It's been written,
it's been repeated, time and again,
"our deepest fear isn't that we are inadequate.....
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us....."
Even in the great manuscript, it has been said,
"You are the salt, the light of the earth.....
Let your light shine before men...."
all this we know,
yet,somehow,we fail to believe,
yet,somehow,all this was meant for others but we,
"Trust in him and he will do this;
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
"We have adopted justifiable causes
, academia, degrees, PhDs,
noble they are,
but are they really meant for all of we?
"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son.....
And those he predestined, he also called;
those he called, he also justified;
those he justified, he also glorified
"In our causes, are we justified, truly glorified?
Does he who formed us get his due praise, i
n the daily hustle that is the key ingredient to our lives?
Then I imagine,
I try and capture in my mind's eye,
the Holy City, that was revealed to one man,
the New Jerusalem, that will be,
the home that will be, for them who overcome,
the paradise, the prize,
the light at the end of the tunnel,
Then I wonder,
what if that which will get me there, I already have?
What if I'm perfect, well-enabled, fit for the job, just as I am?
What if all the knowledge, all the things I hold so dear?
Professions, prestige, recognition.
What if these will shut me out of the Holy City?
He has called some to be apostles, some to be teachers.....
What if the conventions that are, aren't really the makings of me?
What if we all rose, and took up our places in the army?
What if we put on the full armour of God?
The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness?
What if I don't have to go anywhere else to find me?
What if?.......
